Benzodiazepine Policy

At Synergy Psychiatry, benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin) are only prescribed for short-term use when clinically necessary. Due to risks of dependence, withdrawal, and cognitive side effects, they are not part of our long-term treatment approach. We focus on safer, evidence-based strategies to support lasting mental wellness.

Appointment Flexibility

Flexible Scheduling to Fit Your Life

At Synergy Psychiatry, we understand that your time is valuable—and that finding time for mental health care can be difficult. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling options, including select evening and weekend appointments, to better support your needs.

All appointments are conducted via secure telehealth, allowing you to connect from the comfort and privacy of your own space. We also offer same-week availability whenever possible, so you can get care when you need it most—without a long wait.

Your mental health matters, and we’re here to make accessing compassionate, personalized care as simple and convenient as possible.

Are you now or in the future accepting kids/adolescents?

Although I’m board-certified to treat individuals across the lifespan, my practice is currently focused on adults (18 and older). I specialize in helping adults navigate life transitions, anxiety, burnout, and other challenges that arise in the course of everyday life. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Termination of care**

At Synergy Psychiatry, we are deeply committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care in a supportive and respectful environment. Our therapeutic relationship is a collaborative process, and we take our responsibility to your mental health seriously. That said, there may be circumstances where continuing care is no longer appropriate or safe within our practice.

Reasons for discontinuing care may include:

Repeated missed or late-canceled appointments – Consistent attendance is essential for therapeutic progress. Frequent missed sessions may disrupt care and indicate that a different level of support might be more helpful.

Ongoing non-adherence to treatment recommendations – If suggested medications, follow-ups, or therapeutic plans are regularly declined without discussion, it can make it difficult to provide safe and effective treatment.

A need for more intensive or specialized services – If your symptoms or circumstances require a higher level of care—such as inpatient treatment, substance use support, or frequent crisis intervention—we will help connect you to providers better suited to your needs.

Unsafe or inappropriate behavior – We strive to maintain a safe, respectful, and professional environment. Any behavior that is threatening, aggressive, or otherwise inappropriate may result in immediate termination of care.

If services are discontinued at Synergy Psychiatry, we will do our best to provide referrals or resources to support a smooth transition. Your well-being remains our priority, even if your next steps take place outside our practice.
